As the cold
nights and grey days of winter start to dissipate, we all like to spend a
little time daydreaming about what we will be doing when the temperatures start
to rise. When the sun is shining, many of us would choose to spend some quality
time outside, whether it’s in the garden savouring a barbecue or enjoying a
peaceful walk around some of our stunning countryside. We might grudgingly like
the winter, but what we feel about the summer is sometimes almost approaching
love.
There is
something truly wonderful about a summer’s day in the UK, especially if it’s at
the weekend after a long and difficult week at work. Taking in the fresh air
and the beautiful sights is something that every member of the family can
enjoy, from the young ones kicking a ball to the more senior ones reminiscing
about their summer memories. This is one of those activities that mean
something special to everyone.
Here in the
United Kingdom, we are blessed with some incredibly spectacular rural
locations. There are a number of wonderful country pubs in Sussex, a county
that’s rightly famous for its natural beauty, so it comes as no surprise to see
so any people heading out on a Sunday morning. As well as a lovely walk spent
with some great company, the prospect of a couple of cold drinks and a
mouth-watering meal is enough to tempt anyone.
Dreaming about dog
friendly pubs in Sussex
For those
people who travel up to London to work during the week, a weekend off is always
going to be something to treasure. On a busy commuter train on a Wednesday
morning, it’s not unusual to fantasise about dog friendly pubs in Sussex,
especially if it involves sitting outside in the pub garden while savouring
some top quality refreshments. In some ways, life really doesn’t get much
better than this.
It goes
without saying that a walk in the countryside will mean different things to
different people. There are some men and women who will be happy to just stroll
along for maybe twenty minutes or so before stopping to unwind. Others may
perhaps want to venture further afield, heading off into the countryside for
what resembles a route march for two or three hours. They cover a great deal of
ground during these walks, and in the process they build up a thirst and a
hunger that simply have to be satisfied.
Thankfully,
there are a number of excellent pubs for walkers in Sussex, giving a golden
opportunity to savour a Saturday or Sunday that will surely never be forgotten.
It might not be easy to decide which of these wonderful hostelries you should
visit, however, because there are several to choose from. Sussex is one of the most attractive counties in the whole of England, partly because of the
jaw-dropping rural landscapes and partly because of the dramatic coastline.
Find the very best pubs
for walkers in Sussex
We are
constantly being bombarded by reports in the media about the nation’s health,
and it has to be said that there is a growing concern about the way our
children spend too much time in front of the television and playing video
games. For this reason, a long, peaceful walk in the countryside at the weekend
makes a great alternative to being a couch potato.
And the good news is there are a number of wonderful pubs for walkers in
Sussex, each of them offering a great range of drinks and food for happy
wanderers.
The next
time you are able to spend some quality time with friends and relatives, it
would be a good idea to don your best walking shoes and to make tracks to the
countryside. There is nothing quite as enjoyable as a stroll among our natural
rural beauty, whether it involves just the two of you or a large family group.
And if you have the chance to bring a dog along with you, it can be even more
fun. It doesn’t cost anything to walk through a forest, an area of woodland or
a local park, so make the most of the UK whenever you get a chance to do so.
Long walks
are not just about the mornings, of course. At the height of summer, daylight
lasts well into the late evening, giving walkers even more chances to spend an
hour or two of complete and utter bliss. When the sun is shining and the skies
are blue, we all need to make the most of the treasures that are all around us.
With a wealth of country pubs in Sussex to choose from, those men, women and
children who live in the south-east of England are all too aware that they are
spoilt for choice.
